摘要
佛教医学已成为当下学术研究的热点。尽管佛教医学翻译是佛教医学在印度外得以研究的基础,但专门针对前者的研究很少。仅有的一些零星研究一般均将安世高作为首位将佛医引入中国的译者,其根据主要为《开元释教录》所载“东汉之末,安世高医术有名,译经传入印度之医药”,却又均不能指出具体引自《开元释教录》之何处,也不能正确指出究竟安世高所译哪一(些)部佛经涉及佛医。然而,细读《开元释教录》,并未找到上述引文内容。通过进一步考察《出三藏记集》等重要佛教典藉的相关记载及安世高、支娄迦谶所译佛经,可以确定安世高与支娄迦谶都是较早涉及佛医的译者,且现有资料无法断定二者翻译的先后。此外,本文还详细梳理了二人翻译的涉医佛经及其具体涉医内容。
Buddhist medicine(BM)has become academically hot recently.Although translation of BM is the foundation of other studies outside India on BM,the translation studies specifically for BM remains rare.The available sporadic studies contends generally that An Shigao is the first translator translating BM into China.The allegation,however,is only based on the so—called quotation from Kaiyuanshijiaolu,which reads“at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty,An is well known for his medical skills,and introduces BM into China by Buddhist translation.”Doubtfully,no one has ever pointed out on which page exactly the quotation is recorded,and which Buddhist translation(s)by An is concerned with BM.Actually,no such quotation is found in Kaiyuanshijiaolu.Further studying Buddhist classics,such as Chusanzangjiji etc.,and the Buddhist translations by An and Lokaksema,we think that given currently available literature,both An and Lokaksema may be viewed the earliest BM-involved translators and their chronological sequence of translation can’t be determined.The paper also points out the specific BM—involved Buddhist translations by An and Lokaksema,and their medicine—involved scripts.
