Multi-voiced female narrative in Toni Morrison’s novels reveals her unique narrative art. She skillfully combines personal voice, authorial voice and communal voice to break male discourse authority and gives African American women who are in the marginal position the authority to speak. The personal voice helps to unfold African American women’s construction of racial identity. As a complement to the personal voice, the authorial voice reestablishes African American women’s discourse authority. While the communal voice serves the role of telling the racial history of African American women.
