摘要
康拉德是一位非常有非洲情结的作家,在其《黑暗的心》和《文明的前哨》两部小说中出现了许多非洲人物形象。这些人物形象既有个体形象也有群体形象。作家对小说中出现的非洲人物形象描写,并不是非此即彼的单一描绘,而是复杂的、富有张力的多元化书写。而且,这一书写还隐含着一定的规律:没有接受欧洲白人"驯化"的非洲人物多以负面形象书写为主,鲜有正面描写,而对接受过白人"驯化"的非洲人物的正面书写则明显增多。这一规律反映出康拉德对待殖民主义的复杂而又矛盾的内心世界。
Conrad is a writer with African complex.In his two novels.Heart of Darkness and An Outpost of Progress,there are many African characters,and these characters are of both individual and group images.His description of the images is not a simple or single description,but a complicated and diversified writing.Moreover,there is a certain rule in his writing:the African characters who had not been“domesticated”by the white European were mostly negatively portrayed,while those who had been“domesticated”by the white European mostly positively portrayed.Such rule reflects the writer’s complicated and contradictory inner world towards colonialism.
