摘要
萧赜与萧长懋在做太子之时,礼制用度都超越规定,但二人均未受实质性惩罚,此种处理方式令人生疑。其原因在于:齐高帝以及武帝吸取了刘宋宗室纷争教训选择了重用皇次子的宗王政策,即选择储君后再择取一位宗室成员作为辅佐,并给予其比其他子嗣更大的权利。于是,高帝、武帝时分别存在着“太子萧赜与豫章王萧嶷”“太子萧长懋与竟陵王萧子显”两个政治中心,从而造成太子的恐慌,“违礼”是太子彰显并且巩固自身政治地位的行为。出于权力制衡考量,在位皇帝只能采取“冷处理”的方式。这也加剧了南齐风云变幻的政治斗争,对当时文人心态、文学创作产生了深远影响。
When Xiao Ze and Xiao Changmao were crown princes of the Southern Qi Dynasty,they violated royal regulations about their rights and expenditure,but they were not punished at all,which aroused some doubts.The reasons were two emperors of the Southern Qi Dynasty handled questions of succession in a different way.Concretely,Xiao Ze and Xiao Changmao were challenged by their younger brothers who were granted abundant rights by their fathers,the emperors,who wanted to ensure to have a“backup”in case the eldest son(crown prince)turned out to be unreliable for succession.However,the two crown princes above tried to counter this policy made by their fathers,and intentionally broke ceremonial rules(concretely,frequently acting in the same way as the emperor himself)in order to show that their position was higher and that they were determined to succeed as emperors,rather than being challenged by their younger siblings.To strike a balance between the princes,the emperor had to deal with such behavior in a low key,which indeed aggravated the political dispute and had a far reaching effect on literature.
