摘要
外国在华专利申请量的急剧增长引发了对国内企业创新的关注。作为重要的国际技术溢出渠道,外国专利增加了国内企业可供获取的创新资源,但也在一定程度上形成专利垄断,挤占本土企业的创新空间。因此,基于2007—2017年中国上市公司与国家知识产权局匹配数据,本文实证研究了外国在华专利、吸收能力对中国企业创新的影响。研究结果显示:外国在华专利对中国企业创新具有显著影响,当企业吸收能力达到一定程度时,外国在华专利对国内企业创新表现为促进作用。并且,对不同企业的作用存在明显差异。外国在华专利对国有企业、民营企业、高科技行业企业及竞争性行业企业创新具有显著促进作用,对其他企业的作用有限。
The rapid growth of foreign patents in China and their effect on domestic innovation have attracted much attention.As one of the most important channels of international technology spillover,foreign patents could promote domestic innovation by increasing locally available innovative resources.However,to some extent,foreign patents will increase the monopoly power which may make it more difficult to innovate for local enterprises.Therefore,based on the data of Chinese listed companies from 2007 to 2017,this paper analyses empirically the effects of foreign patents and absorptive capacity on domestic firms'innovation.The results show that foreign patents in China do affect domestic innovation in general,but the effect is positive only if the absorptive capacity of enterprises reaches a certain level.Specifically,foreign patents could promote the innovation of state-owned enterprises,private enterprises,high-tech enterprises and enterprises in competitive industries,but the effect is rather limited for other enterprises.
