摘要
新兴市场跨国公司的国际扩张是近十年来学术界研究的热点议题之一。本文以2008-2016年WOS数据库的690篇SSCI期刊论文为样本,通过文献计量分析、因子分析和多维尺度分析,探索和识别了新兴市场跨国公司国际扩张研究领域的学科知识基础,发现其由新兴市场跨国公司国际扩张的动机及影响因素、不同理论视角、新兴市场情境特征、新兴市场跨国公司特征、运营与决策过程、绩效等六个模块构成。这六个知识基础模块构成一个包括新兴市场跨国公司国际扩张的"情境-理论基础-前因-行为-后果"(CTA BC)知识框架。在此基础上,通过对80篇高被引文献的内容分析,从研究主题、理论视角和研究设计(包括文献类型、数据来源、样本特征)等三个方面揭示了新兴市场跨国公司国际扩张的研究进展,发掘现有研究不足,并以此提出该领域未来的研究方向,为后续研究提供建议和参考。
International expansion of MNEs in emerging markets has attracted much more academic attention in the recent decade. Taking 690 SSCI papers which are from 2008 to 2016 in the WOS database as the research samples, and using the methods of bibliometric, factor analysis and multidimensional scaling analysis, this paper explores and identifies the subject intellectual structure of the research on the international expansion of emerging market multinationals, which is composed of six parts: the research of motivation and influence factors, the research of different theories and perspectives, the research of the characteristics of emerging market context, the research of MNEs’ operation and decision-making process, and the research of the performance MNEs’ international expansion in emerging markets. These above six parts also can constitute the research CTABC framework of "Context-Theory-Antecedents-Behaviors-Consequences". Furthermore, by using content analysis based on the CTABC framework of 80 highly cited papers in this field, this paper reveals the research status and gaps in the field of international expansion of emerging market multinationals in three parts, namely, research content, theory and perspective, and method which includes the type of literature, the source of data, and the characteristics of the sample. Four main research gaps are found in this paper: firstly, researches in this field are mainly focus on the content-oriented research, such as motivation, influencing factor, entry mode and location, but ignore the process-or the actor-oriented research about the operation management and dynamic mechanism after MNEs’ international expansion. Secondly, little attention is paid to the MNEs’ performance after MNEs’ international expansion in this field. Thirdly, the existing research focuses on the impact of formal institutions on a single country and their influence on large MNEs’ international expansion, but ignores the research on informal institution, multiple countries’ context and the
