摘要
刘国钧是我国近现代著名的图书馆学家、图书馆事业家、图书馆学教育家、中国近现代图书馆学奠基人之一。文章通过信件、档案和相关文献,撷取他在1951-1952年期间,进入北京大学图书馆学系任教前后的几个片段,记述他在学科初创时期遇到的困难和作出的贡献。
As one of the founding fathers of contemporary library science in China, Liu Kwoh-Chuin made significant contributions to the scholarship and education in this field during its early years. A significant part of his contributions to this field were made during the years when he worked at the Department of Library Science at Peking University. Through drawing letters, archival records, and other materials, this article illustrates his professional career from 1951 to 1952, after he joined Peking University. Special focus was given to how he managed to overcome difficulties in the very early years of the department.
