In the 1980s the conservative republican Reagan came into presidency, inheriting 50s’ and 60s’ McCarthyism, and politically acted against homosexuals, AIDS and communism, forming the new conservatism.Tony Kushner’s Angels in America narrates the personal experiences of five gays and AIDS patients.Through virology and immunology this essay interprets the process of the imperial body suffering from numerous "viruses" and the immune system to cope with the "viral" way, and finds out how AIDS deconstructs the Republican imperial policy and reveals the author’s thoughts of new imperialism through concepts such as human rights and citizens of the world.
