Located in Qingzhi Wukou, North of Xianggu Mountain, Hangzhou, Yuquan Guanyu(Yuquan Fish-watching Spring) is now in the Hangzhou Botanical Garden of the West Lake Scenic Area. The old Yuquan Temple was built in the Southern Dynasties, and the scenery of this temple was in the list of the "Top 18 Famous Scenery of West Lake" in the Emperor Yongzheng Period of Qing Dynasty. Yuquan Spring has been rebuilt in many dynasties, and its main scenery is still intact and distinctive. From the layout of spatial structure to the exquisite sculptures with garden elements, it shows the characteristics of both temple garden and tourist public garden, reflecting the intense traditional humanistic color and profound historical accumulation of regions in the south of the Yangtze River. At present, the research on Yuquan Fish-watching Spring in academia only took it just as a case under the macroscopic themes, and there is no detailed case study about its scenic spot. This paper systematically sorted out the research materials of Yuquan Fish-watching Spring from four aspects: ancient documents, modern monographs, academic papers, and contemporary reconstruction plans. It aims to bring about a deeper level of academic and practical thinking and restore the garden changing history, which is full of vitality.
