摘要
津巴布韦的英语文学较少受到学界关注,但近30年特别是进入21世纪后的迅猛发展和突出成就,已经成为不容忽视的事实。津巴布韦的黑人英语作家已经取代白人英语作家成为主要创作群体,以真正代言人的身份重塑着非洲形象;多种文学形式,尤其是短篇小说的创作取得突破性进展,成为津巴布韦英语文坛繁荣兴盛的力证;这时期的作家密切关注社会现实,关怀国家未来,聚焦“津巴布韦危机”下的人生百态,特别凸显了普通大众在生存困境中展现的美好情感和坚韧意志,具有鲜明的审美属性和感人的道德力量,成为非洲英语文学的重要一支。
Zimbabwean literature in English in Central Africa has not attracted much attention from the academia,however,it is indisputable that it has been developing rapidly and made great achievements in the last nearly thirty years,especially in the new millennium.In the new century,the black English writers functioning as real prolocutors have replaced the white writers to become the major creation force,thus being reshaping African images.Many breakthroughs in the development of various literary forms,particularly short writings serve as a good illustration that Zimbabwean literature in English is thriving.Under the influence of the literary predecessors,the writers in the 21st century are closely concerned with the social reality and the nation future by paying special attention to the variety of life experiences in the“Zimbabwe Crises”,among which the general public are foregrounded as human beings who in spite of life predicaments are still demonstrating kindness and fortitude,for which the Zimbabwean literature in English in this period is endowed with distinct aesthetic power and strong moral force,and therefore exalts its cultural and aesthetic quality and style.
