摘要
语言元功能(即概念功能、人际功能和语篇功能)是对语言具体功能的抽象和概括。学界对这一理论展开了系统的论述,但是"语言元功能从何而来?"、"其哲学基础何在?"等根本性问题尚待探讨和回答。本文认为体验哲学揭示了语言的具身基础,能有效解释语言元功能的哲学渊源,并在回顾语言具身性的基础上,论述了语言元功能的体验哲学基础及其具身理据。研究发现,人与物质世界的互动、人与社会世界的互动以及人与心理世界的互动分别是概念功能、人际功能和语篇功能的体验哲学基础。
The metafunctions of language, including ideational function, interpersonal function and textual function, arise from the abstraction and generalization of specific language functions.Systematic studies have been conducted on the theory of metafunctions, yet fundamental questions like"what is the source of metafunctions?"and"what is their philosophical foundation?"need to be addressed. This study contends that the philosophy of embodiment unveils the embodied foundation of language and serves as the philosophical foundation of language metafunctions. Based on a brief review of the embodiment of language, this paper elaborates on the philosophical foundation of language metafunctions and the motivation of their embodiment. The results indicate that the three metafunctions are performed on the basis of the interactions between man and the physical, social and mental worlds respectively.
