摘要
国际贸易不仅会受国家之间不同语言种类的影响,而且还会受一国之内不同语言表象即方言多样性的影响。本文借鉴Combes等(2005)和陈永伟(2016)所构建的引力模型,将方言多样性融进贸易方程中,从理论上考察方言多样性对于贸易开展的可能性影响,并利用我国1999-2015年28个省区市的数据,进一步详细地考察了方言多样性影响对外贸易的作用特征和内在机制。研究表明:方言多样性对各省区市的对外贸易具有稳健的抑制作用,且这种作用表现出明显的空间差异性和时间演变性,即在我国的中西部及南方地区,这种作用更为显著,而在时间上则呈现出正U型态势。进一步的作用机制分析表明,方言多样性会通过抑制人力资本积累和市场分工深化两个渠道对国际贸易产生不利的影响。本文不仅能丰富和深化语言对于贸易发展的学术研究,而且还能对我国方言迥异的各地区如何更好地开展国际贸易提供有益的政策启示。
International Trade is influenced not only by languages in different countries,but also by dialects in host country.In this paper,we construct a theoretical model to illustrate the relationship between dialect diversity and foreign trade.Then we analyze this relationship based on the economic data of Chinese provinces and some kinds of econometric methods.At last, we robustly get these conclusions as follows.On the one hand,dialect will not have a positive effect on the foreign trade and its parts,i.e.,export trade and import trade;on the other hand, there is a time and space effect between these two variables.That is to say that the significant negative effect mainly embodies in the central,western and southern areas in China.And this effect will make out a U shape with the development of economy and society.We also find that dialect diversity will inhabit human resource and market division to influence international trade.This paper not only enriches the study of language playing on trade,but also gives some important countermeasures on how to develop international trade for our provinces which have many dialect diversities.
