During the Yinxu Period, diversified handicraft categories represented by bronze-casting,jade working, bone processing and pottery making, were widely distributed in Yinxu Site. The handicraft workshop remains discovered in the past 90 years of archaeological excavation laid firm foundation for the research on the distribution of handicrafts in Yinxu during the Yinxu Period.Roughly, the handicraft workshops could be divided into the middle, south, west and east industrial zones, within each of which various handicraft categories were coexisting, and the industrial zones were supplementing each other in time and space,in order to meet the demands of the aristocrats and common people to their products. The handicraft productions had at least two management modes, namely the clan-managed mode and royal court-managed mode,in order to hand down and control the handicraft techniques. The distribution of handicrafts in Yinxu Site is the succession of that of the Erlitou Culture and early Shang Dynasty, and also greatly influenced the distribution of handicrafts in the Western Zhou Dynasty.
