摘要
从文化学和语义学视角来看,汉英女性称谓之间存在文化意义相同、文化意义相近和文化意义空缺三种常态。汉英翻译实践显示,汉语称谓语言生态中诸多特异女性称谓会造成称谓英译时的文化失语困境。动态对等视角下灵活运用英语中具有广泛描述力的女性性别标记范式能够化解文化意义空缺情况下汉语特异女性称谓的英译难题,基于归化异化的综合描述译法和拼音-注解译法能够实现译文对源语文化的充分描述和译文在目的语文化中的可理解性可接受性。此类意义充分形式得体的动态对等译法能够促成汉语特异女性称谓及其英语译文之间文化语义信息的最切近对等和最佳关联。
Analyzing form the perspective of culturology and semantics,we can find that there exist three kinds of norms between the Chinese and English female address forms:their cultural meanings may be the same;their cultural meanings may be similar and their cultural meanings may be unique in one culture but vacant in the other culture.The Chinese-English translation practice indicates that cultural aphasia may often occur while translating these numerous specific female address forms in Chinese addressing ecology into English.The difficulty in Chinese-English translation of Chinese specific female address forms can be solved by using various kinds of English gender markers from the perspective of dynamic equivalence flexibly.The comprehensive descriptive translation method and Chinese Pinyin-English explanatory notes translation method based on domestication and foreignization can be employed to achieve the goal of translating the Chinese specific address forms by fully describing their cultural meanings in Chinese source language and making them be easily understood and accepted in English target language.Such two dynamic equivalent translation methods with full meanings and decent forms can contribute to the closest equivalence and the optimal relevance between the Chinese specific female address forms and their English versions.
