“乡原”何以为“德之贼”——早期儒家对“学为君子”思想的反向阐释

摘要 "乡原,德之贼也"的论断,是从教育者的角度,针对个体德性养成来说的。"乡原"代表了一种典型的品质特征和为学态度,这种内在特征和态度是他们在日常生活中阉然媚世的深层依据。"乡原"自以为是的态度和似是而非的行为特征从根本上扼杀了通过教育和学习而进德成为君子的可能。"乡原,德之贼也"是早期儒家对"学为君子"思想的一种反向阐释,通过乡原形象的描绘和对"乡原"行为方式的明确反对,告诉学者进德的基本前提和要求。 "A vulgar and hypocritical person is harmful to virtue",which is based on individual moral cultivation in the perspective of educators.A"vulgar and hypocritical person"represents a typical character and learning attitude which was the deep basis of their inherent characteristics of vulgarity and hypocrisy in daily life.Their behavior characteristics of self-righteousness and speciosity stifled the possibility of becoming Jun-zi through education and learning."A vulgar and hypocritical person is harmful to virtue",which is the early Confucian's reversed interpretation of"Thought of Learning to Be Jun-zi".By describing the original image of"the vulgar and hypocritical person"and apparent opposition to his behavior,the early Confucian explained the basic premise and requirement that a scholar became Jun-zi by the way of improving his own virtue on the reverse side.
