摘要
"God"的汉译问题是传教士在《教务杂志》上热烈而又长久讨论的话题之一。仔细分析传教士的讨论文章发现,他们在对"God"希伯来原文的理解、对中国语言文化和相关名词的理解、对当下中国读者的理解、对传教士自身所处传统的理解等方面都存在着分歧,这些分歧导致不同的译名主张。这是一个富有诠释学意味的问题,从共时的角度看,传教士间诠释的冲突成为译名解决的障碍,而从历时的角度看,诠释的冲突带来视野的融合,并为问题的解决提供了可能。
The term question was one of the issues which were debated ardently and long by the missionaries in The Chinese Recorder.By analyzing the missionaries' articles carefully,we can see that there were several differences among the missionaries,such as the understanding on the Hebrew words of'God',the Chinese language and culture and the relative terms,the contemporary Chinese readers,and the missionaries' traditions.These differences caused different decisions about the Chinese term for'God'.This is a question with hermeneutic sense.The conflicts among the missionaries were obstacles to solve term question if we research this question synchronically,but they also brought to'fusion of horizons'and offered a possibility to solve the term question if we research it diachronically.
