摘要
中型英汉词典的发展策略应是积极应对中型外版英汉双解词典的市场挑战,着力于培养用户,调整结构,以此两点为抓手,树立精品意识,加大独立研编的力度,在旧日辉煌业绩的基础上,创造出新时代的"高致用性大众化"辞书。
In this paper,the present author argues that the strategy for the further development of the medium-sized English-Chinese dictionary should be to(1)grow its customer base and(2)fine-tune the dictionary text itself,so as to proactively respond to the market challenges posed by the bilingualized learner's dictionary of English.Chinese publishers should aim at making the 'popular dictionary of high usability' for 21st-century China by enhancing their independent research and compilatory abilities.
