Mr. Ge's “Authentic English” and Cultivation of Students' Lifelong Learning Ability in English

摘要 葛文山老师所倡导的原点教学立足于培养学生英语学习力,把培养学生的自主性当作所有英语学习的根本目标,特别强调自主管理多、词汇量大、阅读量大、思维量大。原点教学激发了学生的内在兴趣、好奇心和成就需要,有效提供大量的可理解性语言输入,让学生初步具备处理原汁原味语言材料的能力。 Authentic Teaching advocated by Mr. Ge is based on the cultivating of students’ English learning ability, which sets the fundamental goal of developing students’ autonomy in English education. Also, it pays special attention to such aspects as sufficiently independent management, large vocabulary sizes, reading extensively, and thinking abundantly. Meanwhile, Authentic Teaching can spark students’ internal interest, curiosity and achievement needs, and it can effectively provide students with enough comprehensible input so that they can initially acquire the ability of dealing with authentic language materials.
