摘要
民国时期,既能接续书院传统,又能顺应大学发展的时代需求,唯有唐文治执掌的无锡国专成效最彰。无锡国专的成功与唐文治所具有之君子人格具有内在的联系,这集中体现在其教育救国、理学救国的仁爱情怀,与时俱进、因时制宜的实践智慧,以及存正气、履大节的勇毅精神。作为一位独具魅力的教育理想主义者,唐文治的教育思想与实践为中国现代大学史留下了一份独特的精神遗产。
Abstract：During the period of the Republic of China, the sole institution reaping the most success in both sustaining the tradition of Chinese academies and responding to the call of the era for university development was the College of Chinese Culture, whose success had been inherently connected with the gentleman personality of Tang Wenzhi, the head of the College. Such connection is mainly epitomized by the benevolent spirit of “saving the nation by education” and “revitalizing the nation by science”, the practical wisdom of “keeping pace with the times” and “acting according to circumstances” as well as the bravery and fortitude of “reserving moral integrity” and “fulfilling high moral principles”. As a distinctively charismatic educational idealist, the educational thoughts and practices of Tang Wenzhi have left a unique spiritual legacy in the history of modern Chinese universities.
