Objective To analyze the effect of positive intervention on family burden and family members' psychological fluctuation of first episode schizophrenia. Methods 60 families who had first episode schizophrenia patients were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group(n=30)and the control group(n=30). Using the Family Burden Scale of Diseases(FBs),Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD)and Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)to assess family burden, depression and anxiety. Results The two groups showed no statistically significant differences in demographic characteristics(P〈0.05). Before the intervention, the two groups had no statistically significant in the total score of HAMD and SAS in family members of patients(P〈0.05). After the intervention, the experimental group's FBS score was significantly lower than that in the control group(P〈0.05). The total score of HAMD and SAS in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P ≤0.01),and the reduction rate of BPRS was significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group(P ≤0.01). Conclusion The family members of the first schizophrenic patients bear a large family burden. Positive intervention improves the family members' psychological state, which should be widely applied and promoted.
