摘要
国内方言翻译近年来逐渐形成研究热点,但也存在研究框架理论化和系统化程度不够,研究成果积累和借鉴不足的问题。具体就文学方言描写翻译研究而言,研究成果多集中于展现单个案例中方言翻译策略,策略描写欠系统性,共性和制约因素方面的研究较为欠缺。本文针对上述问题对国外这方面的成果进行了三个方面的梳理:一是细化方言翻译研究的研究对象,为文学方言描写翻译研究进行定位;二是构建文学方言翻译策略层次图,深化方言翻译策略研究;三是系统呈现有关文学方言翻译的共性和制约因素研究方面的成果。本文尝试通过文献梳理来勾勒文学方言描写翻译研究的路线图,提升这一领域研究的系统化和理论化程度,帮助对这一领域研究感兴趣的研究者找准研究定位,发现研究空白,与前人研究建立对话和联系,从而对方言翻译研究乃至整个翻译研究产生实质性的影响和推动。
Translation of literary dialect has attracted much attention from TS researchers in China, as is indicated by the recent boom in publications on the subject. Yet many of these studies are found to be either inadequate theoretically or less than systematic in their treatment. Not infrequently, they just dwell on translation strategies adopted for individual cases, without concerning themselves with translation universals and socio-cultural conditioning factors relevant to dialect translation in general. To remedy such problems, this article proposes a broad framework for dialect translation in general, a localized framework for descriptive studies of literary dialect translation, and a comprehensive and systematic framework for describing strategies and techniques used in English-Chinese literary dialect translation. In addition to this trio of frameworks, an open framework capable of accommodating different areas of descriptive studies of dialect translation is also sketched, so as to facilitate the efforts by concerned Chinese researchers to find suitable issues for their research projects from this specialized area of inquiry.
