摘要
主人公奶娃的"飞翔"一直被看作《所罗门之歌》的主题。然而在奶娃"飞翔"的同时,另一名黑人青年哈格尔却走向死亡。哈格尔之死表面上是一出始乱终弃的爱情悲剧,但奶娃与她的关系实质上是父权制社会中两性之间支配与从属关系的体现。而哈格尔之死则是二元对立的思维模式中作为"他者"的黑人女性反抗失败的必然结果。
The " flying" of the protagonist Milkman has always been regarded as the motif of Song of Solomon.While Milkman flies,Hagar,another black youth walks deathward. Hagar's death seems to have shown us a discarding love story,but actually the relationship of Milkman and Hagar is an embodiment of the relationship of dominance and subordinance between male and female in patriarchal society. And Hagar's death is inevitable because the defiance of black females viewed as " the Other" is doomed to fail under the thought patterns of binary opposition.
