摘要
在南海疆域史上,如何认识孙中山和南方政府与西沙岛务开发的关系,是个颇为复杂的问题。据英国外交部档案记载,孙中山和南方政府不仅与西沙岛务开发有关联,且涉嫌出卖西沙和海南岛的权益,当时国内《申报》《晨报》《民国日报》等报刊亦盛传此事,还曾引起琼崖各界人士的强烈抗议,并向孙中山和南方政府提出质问。孙中山等虽一再辩白,但舆论汹汹,一时之间真假难辨,直至近些年仍有人出于某种目的继续炒作此事。其实,以中外文献比较及对南海局势的分析来看,指责孙中山和南方政府的证据皆似是而实非。谣言流传,一方面是因为国内外某些政治势力企图制造舆论混乱、挑拨民族情绪以从中渔利,另一方面也是由于国内某些报刊、组织团体不究事故而盲从的结果。
In the history of the South China Sea,how to understand the relationship between Sun Yat-sen,the Southern Government and the development of Xisha island is a rather complicated problem.According to records of the British Foreign Office archives,Sun Yat-sen and the Southern Government are not only linked to the development of Xisha Island affairs,but are also suspected of betraying the rights and interests of Xisha and Hainan Island.At the time,newspapers and periodicals such as the＂Shen Bao＂＂Morning Post＂and＂Republican Daily News＂also rumored widely.This caused strong protests from people of all walks of life in QiongYa,and raised questions to Sun Yat-sen and the Southern Government.Through the comparison of Chinese and foreign documents,as well as the analysis of the situation in the South China Sea,the evidence of accusing Sun Yat-sen and the Southern Government is similar but not true.This was not only the result of various political forces at home and abroad who created confusion in public opinion and provoked ethnic sentiment in order to profit from it,but also the blind obedience of certain newspapers and periodical organizations in China which could not investigate the facts of the matter.
