With the continuous improvement of people's living standard, life energy consumption has become an important source of energy consumption and carbon emissions. Based on the statistical data from 2003 to 2015 of 30 provinces in China, Moran's I index analysis and Kernel density estimation method were used to analyze the temporal and spatial characteristics of carbon emissions of direct living energy consumption in China's provinces and cities from two perspectives of space and time. The results show that: (1) From the perspective of space, the carbon emissions of residents" direct living energy consumption has obvious agglomeration characteristics, and there are large regional differences; The carbon emission intensity in space shows the characteristics of "northwest high - southeast low", the high carbon emissions areas are mainly concentrated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, the middle Yellow River region and the northwest zone, and the low carbon emissions areas are mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta and the eastern coastal areas. (2) From the perspective of time, the carbon emission intensity of the life energy consumption is declining year by year; Regional gap as a whole shows a downward trend, in which the urban gap continues to expand, and the rural gap increases slightly at first and then decreases drastically. We expect that this paper can contribute to the development and implementation of carbon emissions reduction policies.
