摘要
Dragon一词因为中西文化的嵌入而变得难译,而寻常所见认为与之相对应的"龙"不论在概念意义还是联想意义都与之不能对等,借助于COCA语料库探讨了英美人对于Dragon一词的使用特点,并从语用标记等效角度探讨如何去翻译Dragon一词。
It is difficult to translate ＂Dragon＂into Chinese because of the embedment of Chinese culture and western culture. The common Chinese translation of ＂Dragon＂cannot be equivalent with the English word ＂Dragon＂not only in conceptual meaning but also in associative meaning. By means of COCA corpus,this paper discusses the usage features of ＂Dragon＂for native English speakers,and proposes the corresponding translations based on pragmatic-markedness equivalence principle.
