齐普夫频率对中国英语学习者习得英语VP-NP-AP构式的影响 被引量:1

Effects of Zipfian Frequency on the Acquisition of English VP-NP-AP Constructions by Chinese EFL Learners

摘要 本研究在基于使用的语言学视角下,探讨了齐普夫频率对中国学生习得英语VP-NPAP构式的作用。被试为低中水平的初中三年级学生,他们被随机分派到顺序齐普夫频率组、随机齐普夫频率组,均等频率组和对照组。被试共学习20个目标构式并参加构式测试任务。测试包括非限时语法判断任务和限时语法判断任务。限时语法判断结果显示:相对于其它频率,顺序齐普夫频率在短期内更能显著促进学习者对目标构式隐性知识的习得。非限时语法判断结果显示:三类频率对目标构式显性知识的习得影响差异不显著,但从长期来看,接受顺序齐普夫频率的被试能显著抑制目标构式的错误泛化。 This study aims to uncover how Zipfian frequency affects the L2 development of English VP-NP-AP constructions from the perspective of usage-based linguistics. Chinese lowerintermediate learners, randomly assigned to a first-skewed frequency(FSF) group, a random-skewed frequency(RSF) group, a balanced frequency(BF) group and a control group, participated in the present study. After 20 constructions learning, all participants took a construction assessment task, where two judgment tasks were used to assess the learning gains triggered by the treatment. Results of the timed grammaticality judgment showed that FSF was significantly more facilitative than other conditioned frequencies in participants ' both learning correct and unlearning incorrect VP-NP-AP constructions in the short run. However, results of the untimed acceptability judgment indicated that FSF was as effective as both RSF and BF in learners' learning correct VP-NP-AP constructions, but more beneficial in learners' unlearning incorrect VP-NP-AP constructions than both RSF and BF in the long run.
