摘要
在凯瑞的"传播的仪式观"中,仪式与传播是一种本体关系,而不是类比关系,这关涉传播学研究基本的本体论问题。对此凯瑞没做具体而细致的阐释,但是在他的相关表述中,却隐含着仪式与传播的同一性。作为传播的仪式观的重要思想来源之一,戈夫曼的互动仪式理论认为,社会互动是一种仪式,因此,在凯瑞看来作为符号互动或社会互动过程的传播也是一种仪式。柯林斯的互动仪式链理论拓展并深化了戈夫曼的互动仪式理论,也有助于佐证仪式与传播的本体关系。
By a ritual view of communication advocated by James W. Carey,ritual is identical with rather than analogical to communication,which is involved in the ontology issue of communication studies. Carey did not explain it specifically,however,we can discern the consistence between ritual and communication implicated in Carey 's relevant statements. A ritual view of communication partly comes from the interaction ritual theory. According to the theory of interaction ritual advanced by Erving Goffman,social interaction is a ritual. Accordingly,communication as a symbolic process defined by Carey or a social interaction is identical with ritual. The theory of interaction ritual chains is put forwarded by Randall Collins who widens and deepens the theory of interaction ritual,which also contributes to certify the identical relationship between ritual and communication.
