摘要
"多元学术"是美国大学学术工作改革的理念和方向。伊利诺伊大学厄尔巴纳-香槟分校(UIUC)在2006年进行了学术工作和评价的改革。调查是建立在对近30位系主任和晋升委员会成员访谈的基础上,分析在改革后的10年间,基层学术组织在学术工作内涵和制度化程度上的变化,以及影响制度化程度的机制。研究发现,UIUC各基层学术组织的教学普遍高于程序制度化,发现学术始终保持合作制度化,跨学科学术和转化学术因学科差异而处在不同的制度化程度,参与和扩展服务则始终无法突破结构制度化。在这些学术工作制度化过程中,回报递增机制、承诺递增机制和日益客观化机制起到了重要的作用。我国大学应该通过三种制度化机制合理调节各种学术工作的制度化程度,从经济理性过渡到社会理性,最后上升到学术理性。
Multi-scholarship is the idea and direction of academic work in American universities.University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign(UIUC) conducted faculty academic work and evaluation reform in 2006. Based on interviews of nearly 30 deans and members in promotion committee, the investigation analyzed changes in academic work connotation and its institutionalized levels in grassroots academic units as well as mechanism influencing institutionalization 10 years after reform. This research found that in the grassroots academic units' institutionalization level of teaching is higher than that of process, while the engagement and outreach activity have not broken through structural institutionalization. In the process of academic institutionalization, increasing return mechanism, increasing commitment mechanism and objective process mechanism play important roles. Academic units of Chinese universities should adjust academic work institutionalized level via three mechanisms and promote to achieve transition from economic rationality to social rationality, and then academic rationality.
