摘要
《李尔王》中的"次要人物"葛罗斯特父子、肯特以及考迪利亚和圣经中的形象存在密切关联,他们在形象特征、神学内涵上都有着相通之处。爱德蒙如同雅各一样,要对既有宗法体系发起挑战,而其这样做乃是基于内心平衡的维持;肯特是俗世的先知,通达天地,奖善惩恶;考迪利亚则是救世的圣子,为新政治保驾护航。《李尔王》体现了莎士比亚对文艺复兴的反思和探索,是希伯来传统在文艺复兴中的延续,是莎士比亚政治哲学思想的集中体现。
The "minor characters"of King Lear,Gloucester and his son,Kent,and Cordelia and biblical image are closely related. They have similarities in the image feature and theological connotations. Both Edmund and Jacob launch the challenge towards the patriarchal clan system,and in doing so they keep the maintenance of inner balance; Kent is the prophet of the earthly,who has access to heaven and earth,awards the good and punishes the evil; Cordelia is the son of God,who is the new political escort. King Lear reflects the reflection and exploration of Shakespeare on the Renaissance,which are the revival of Hebrew tradition in Renaissance and the concentrated expression of Shakespeare's political philosophy.
