摘要
19世纪中叶以来美国中西部地区逐渐生长出以"威斯康星理念"为代表的州立大学理念,其理念核心认为高等教育是促进人的完善与社会发展过程中至关重要的机构,州立大学应该为所在州的全体人民提供平等且高质量的高等教育。在过去的一百多年,威斯康星理念在不同的时代被赋予了新的内涵和意义——从最初为本州人民提供实用知识,到20世纪初与进步主义运动和政治改良思想的结合,直到今天所强调的成为区域创新系统中的创新主体,威斯康星理念的边界得到了持续拓展,这一理念的百年流变也向我们展示了美国高等教育发展进程的多样性与创新性。
Since the middle nineteenth century, the idea of Wisconsin Concept was gradually grown out and developed among the universities in the Midwest America. Its core idea is that higher education is a significant organization to improve human being and develop the society and the aim of state univer- sities is to provide equality and high-quality education. In the past 100 years, the idea of Wisconsin Concept was attached new meanings and contents which broadens the boundary of this concept: from the very beginning for providing people practical knowledge, to the early twenty's century for combing the progressive movement and political reform though until nowadays for becoming an innovative body. The evolution history of this concept presents diversity and innovation of America's higher education.
