In the European intellectual circles, back to the threshold of 18^(th) century,La Querelle des Anciens et des Modernes was a prodigious issue which can be regarded as a sub-torrent that linked the Renaissance and the Enlightenment.Jonathan Swift as the writer who broke through the deadlock of the Quarrel, his works and thoughts are typically meaningful.Among all those studies that related to Swift and the Quarrel, however, many of them were misreadings, which either ignored the missing words as a narrative strategy or the creative treason of images of the bee and the spider.Yet probe of thoseignored factors can be helpful to recover Swift's real attitude toward the Quarrel.
