摘要
本文介绍了中国科学家与世界卫生组织合作研制青蒿素类药物的曲折历史。中国科学家从药用植物中发现青蒿素并对其进行结构改造后,将各种高效、速效的青蒿素衍生物向国际公开,寻求国际合作以造福更多疟疾患者。为什么这项国际合作没有能够成功,其中有科技体制方面的问题,但更多的是中国自身产业化能力的缺失以及对某些问题的重视程度不够。通过分析这段历史的经验教训,希望能够为以后中国药物研发之路提供一些借鉴。
After the discovery and effective structural transformation of artemisinin from traditional Chinese herb, Chinese scientists revealed a variety of efficient and quick-response artemisinin derivatives internationally and sought possible international cooperation. The article mainly reviews the tortuous process of how Chinese medical scientists sought cooperation with WHO in promoting artemisinin drugs. Apart from the long-lasting problems on scientific organization system, the weakness of Chinese industrial capacity and negligence of some issues might contribute more to the failure of this international cooperation. Some lessons were also analyzed to guide the future development of Chinese drugs.
