摘要
时下,许多翻译工作者为实现其翻译速度,经常疏忽了对语言语境及非语言语境的考量,致使译文没有连贯性,缺乏自然流畅之感,难以理解。究其根本原因,是译者疏于对原语及译入语语境的关注。该文认为语境是一个译者不得不考虑的因素,语境对译者理解原文、校对译文至关重要。语境意识是一个译者必备的翻译"软件"。
Context often plays an important role in solving problems arising from the practice of translation.So the paper focuses its discussion on the necessity of consideration of various contexts in translating.Context can be understood at two levels,the linguistic level and non-linguistic level.Linguistic level involves the aspects of collocation and grammar,etc.;and non-linguistic level deals with other broader fields like emotion,profession,and culture.With the help of examples,the paper comes to the conclusion that a translator must have awareness of context all the time and that consideration of various contexts is necessary and that it is impossible for the translators to turn out satisfactory translation works without consideration of contexts.
