摘要
孔子所谓的"知天命"、"畏天命",其实质是指知晓并且敬畏生命之意义,进而表现为对生命责任与使命的明确。"天"本质上是一个成熟而且确定的文化、心理概念,因此完全不可以用西方崇高论中的"无形式"来界说孔子的"天"。孔子以"知天命""畏天命""立天命"为本根的生死观、人生观和宇宙观,是一种根植于古代华夏民族心理与信仰的、优于数学与力学之崇高的文化性、生命性崇高,对于培育文化土壤以及价值认同,引导当代青年人的人格理想教育具有重要启示。
The original meaning of Tian Ming by Confucius contains two levels. The first one is to acknowledge life and death, while the second is to awe of life' s duty and mission. For short, Tian is actually a ripe and fixed cultural and psychological concept and its implication deeply rooted in the way people live. Even in terms of literal meaning, it is totally different from the idea of no form in sublime in the western thoughts. Tian Ming represents ancient Chinese people' s world outlook and life perspective, and it is a kind of cultural and life sublime, which is deeply rooted in the psychology and belief of the ancient Chinese nation and is superior to the sublime of mathematics and mechanics. It is of great significance to cultivate the cultural soil and value identity, and it will guide ideal personality education greatly in modern times.
