The research is conducted in the essay into the four paintings of The Elephant at A Bath(Xǐ Xiàng Tú in Chinese pinyin) generally believed to be created by Qianxuan who is a painter of the Yuan dynasty from the style, preface and postscript as well as the interpretation on them aiming for the time they appeared in turn in history. They now are respectively collected in the museums at home and abroad. The essay also talks about the Wu School painters being involved in the true-and-false composition of The Elephant at A Bath in the late-Ming dynasty and how much the people understood The Elephant at A Bath before that.
