摘要
从概念转喻理论出发,结合从"英国国家语料库""国家语委现代汉语平衡语料库"和"北京大学中国语言学研究中心现代汉语语料库"搜集来的语料,研究英汉"EAT/吃"行为事件的语言表征。研究发现,由于英语本身语言特性的限制,英汉"EAT/吃"行为事件语言表征相同的概念转喻是THE AMOUNT OF FOOD FOR FOOD,汉语"吃"行为事件语言表征中独有12个概念转喻。
From the perspective of conceptual metonymy theory, this paper aims to study linguistic representations of ＂EAT＂ action event in English and Chinese on the basis of linguistic data collected from the Corpus of Modern Chinese by the National Language Committee, the online corpus designed by Center for Chinese Linguistics Peking University （CCL） and British National Corpus （BNC）. After research, we find that THE AMOUNT OF FOOD FOR FOOD is the only one conceptual metonymy shared by linguistic representations of English and Chinese ＂EAT＂ action event due to the limitation of properties of English language itself. On the other hand, there are twelve unique conceptual metonymies existing in linguistic representations of Chinese ＂EAT＂ action event.
