摘要
与中国古代绝大多数知识分子一样,唐胄也成长于圣贤经传的卵翼之下,但他不是思想家,也不是思想者。在他那里,儒学是作为一种生活方式和从政理念而存在着。终其一生,唐胄志在崇文重教、行道惠民,藉儒学发明心性并加以践履,砥砺自己成为一个伟岸丈夫,并敦崇教化以期儒学广大流行。
Like most traditional Chinese intellectuals, Tang Zhou was also enlightened by Confucianism. But he was not a thinker. Confucianism was a kind of life - style and political conviction for him. Throughout his life, Tang Zhou paid special respect to intellectuals and education. He aimed to uncover nature of mind by learning Confucianism, benefit people by conforming to Confucianism when dealing with political affairs, and carry for- ward Confucian enlightenment.
