摘要
在系统功能语言学里,有关名物化的研究成果颇丰。不过,这些研究大多集中在小句层面,在语篇语义层面的研究较少。本文基于系统功能语言学的语篇语义观点(Martin&Rose 2003/2007),以法律语篇语料为主,研究名物化在语篇中所起的具体作用。研究发现,名物化语言现象在语篇实例化过程中具有专业化、合理化和人际化的作用。具体而言,名物化语言现象将概念知识专业化,在语篇中创建专业术语;将语篇内容的组织合理化,使语篇的谋篇布局在格律意义上更加合理;加强语篇的人际互动,拉近同一领域的读者,疏离其他领域的读者。
Studies of nominalization are well documented in Systemic Functional Linguistics. Many of these studies are conducted at the clausal level with few done at the discoursal-semantic level. This paper, informed by discourse semantics(Martin & Rose 2003/2007) and taking mainly the legal discourse as data, probes into nominalization and its functions in texts beyond the clause. It is found that the dynamic unfolding of nominalization helps to realize technicalization, rationalization and interpersonalization. In terms of technicalization, nominalization helps to create technical terms in different fields. Regarding rationalization, nominalization assists in organizing the whole text through periodicity. As for interpersonalization, nominalization enables language users to achieve solidarity or alienation.
