On the Localization of Foreign Language Teaching Materials in Higher Vocational Colleges

摘要 高职外语教学本土化的过程中,教材本土化是必须解决的首要问题,也是关键问题。本研究从教材的视角分析了高职外语教材本土化的现状及必要性,同时从高职教学本土化的理论层面探讨了高职外语教材本土化的目的、意义及策略;并以本校具体实践为案例,就如何打造高职特色外语教材本土化实践模式进行深入探索,认为本土化策略是高职特色教育教学改革的必经之路,高职外语教材的建设应立足于中国本土,走本土化道路。 In the localizing process of foreign language teaching in higher vocational education, teaching materials, teachers, teaching methods are complementary to each other. But the localization of teaching materials is a primary issue, and also the key problem. This research, from the angle of localization of teaching materials in higher vocational colleges, analyzes its present situation and necessity, and theoretically discusses the significance, purpose, and strategies. Finally, this paper, by means of localized reform and practice in this regard, tries to find out a successful practical pattern, leading to a conclusion that localization is the only way for a successful characteristic reform in higher vocational education; and that the construction of foreign language teaching materials in higher vocational education should undoubtedly take the path of localization and base on the local reality of China.
