摘要
陈衡哲是中国第一位女教授,其以自身行动推动了女性社会地位的提升,促进了民国女子高等教育的发展。陈衡哲对女子教育、儿童教育、青年教育均提出了自己独到的见解,贯穿其教育思想的核心是对因材施教、个性自由、健全人格等教育理念的追求和践行。作为近代留美生之一,"亦中亦西"的文化构成,使其各项思想主张均带有中西融合的品质;坚守传统文化之长,同时引进西方优秀的思想以超越其不足,陈衡哲有力地促进了中西文化的互动与融合。
Chen Hengzhe was the first female university professors in China. She acted to promote the social status of women and promote the development of female higher education of the Republic of China. Chen＇s educational thought on women,children and youth presents her own unique insights. The core of her educational thought is pursuiting and practicing the education philosophy of students＇ abilities,individual freedom,the right personality. As one of the returned students from the U. S. by learning both Chinese culture and the western culture,her thoughts mixed the characteristics of Chinese and Western cultures; Persisting the advantages of traditional culture and introducing western thoughts,Chen promoted powerfully to the interaction and fusion between Chinese and Western culture.
