摘要
理欲关系是中国伦理思想史上的重大理论问题之一,朱熹是理学中对这一问题研究的集大成者,其理学思想主要体现在"存天理,灭人欲"这一观点上。民国时期,对于朱熹的"存天理,灭人欲"的提法,既有辩护者又有批评者。胡适推崇朱熹理学对理性的倡导和其中的平等观念,批评朱熹把"天理"与"人欲"对立起来;冯友兰批评戴震对朱熹哲学的误解,指出朱熹所"灭"之"欲"为"私欲",同时从政治哲学的视角解读朱熹的理欲观。20世纪80年代之后,当代学者主要研究了朱熹理欲之辨的内涵,朱熹理学中"天理"与"人欲"的关系,朱熹理欲观的历史地位与当代价值等问题。根据朱熹思想,结合学术界的相关讨论,从伦理、政治和社会历史观三个不同视角来解读朱熹的"存天理,灭人欲",或许更有利于理解朱子这一思想的内涵和当代意义。
The relationship between justice and desire is an important theoretical issue in the history of Chinese ethics. Zhu Xi in the Song Dynasty made great contribution towards it by proposing his doctrine of "Let There Be Justice But No Lust"( Cun Tian Li,Mie Ren Yu in Chinese). During the period of the Republic of China,Zhu Xi's doctrine received equal praise and criticism. Hu Shi highly praised Zhu Xi's advocacy of rationalism and concept of equality in Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism,while criticizing Zhu Xi that justice and desire shouldn't be contradicted. Feng You-lan criticized Dai Zhen's misunderstanding on Zhu Xi's theory by pointing out that lust in Zhu Xi's doctrine is the personal desire and interpreting Zhu Xi's "View of Reason and Desire"from the perspective of political philosophy. Since the 1980 s,modern scholars have mainly focused on the connotation,relationship,historical status and modern value of Zhu Xi's "View of Reason and Desire".Based on Zhu Xi's thought,in combination with the related discussions in the academic circles and from the perspectives of ethics,politics and social historical outlook,this paper aims to interpret Zhu Xi's Doctrine of"Let There Be Justice But No Lust"( Cun Tian Li,Mie Ren Yu in Chinese),which might be useful to understand Zhu Xi's doctrine and its contemporary significance.
