摘要
《井》是当代澳大利亚著名女作家伊丽莎白·乔利的名作,文章从社会和家庭两方面揭示了女主人公赫斯特的身份危机与内心的彷徨,揭示了一个在孤独中挣扎、被边缘化的女性的生存困境,启示女性必须摆脱源自个人内心以及来自社会的束缚与枷锁,重建自我意识,重塑生活、重塑自我,其积极意义值得肯定。
The Well is a famous work written by Australian contemporary writer Elizabeth Jolley.This paper reveals the silent state and inner agony of the heroine Hester from aspects of family and society.It depicts the predicament of a marginalized woman struggling in isolation.Thus,it is highly significant the novel enlightens us that the female must get rid of restraints and shackles from one's heart as well as from the society,and reconstruct female's life and self-consciousness.
