摘要
政治哲学的目的是构建关于美好社会的抽象理论。出于对自洽性的追求,每种理论都只强调一种人类价值,在实施层面,这往往导致意识形态之争。帕累托改进是一种可操作的分配正义原则,它在不损害其他价值的前提下增进一项或多项价值。它放弃对全局性的抽象理论的构建,着眼于对社会的局部改良,目标是渐进地增进人类价值体系中的每种价值。为此,帕累托改进在抽象的分配正义理论和现实之间架起了一座桥梁。
The aim of political philosophy is to construct abstract theories about a desirable society. Because of his pursuit of self-contained theory, every political philosopher is only able to emphasize on one particular aspect of human values; at the implementation level, this often leads to ideological fights without real actions. Pareto improvement is a workable distributive principle that is aimed at improving one or several values without hurting other kinds of value. It gives up the attempt to construct comprehensive theories, and puts emphasis on partial improvements that aim at a gradual realization of the values in the value system held by human societies. For that, Pareto improvement builds a bridge between abstract distributive theories and the reality.
