摘要
国家翻译实践史是国家叙事不可分割的有机组成部分。国家翻译实践中的"外来译家"研究是集宏观、中观、微观于一体的一项国家社科课题。宏观层面涉及国家翻译实践理念、本质、体系、模式等理论层面的研究,中观层面主要是对国家翻译实践的历史语境与外来译家的文化身份及其翻译行为的关系的研究,微观层面则体现为对兼具"外国专家"、"中国公民"和"职业译者"多重身份的外来译家沙博理及其代表译作的个案探究。本文述评这一跨学科交叉视角的课题最新进展,明确该研究发现对于国家翻译实践史之书写的理论意义和指导价值。
National translation history is an organic and indispensable part of national narration of a country. Research on Foreign Translators Engaged in National Translation Program,a national social science project,is conducted at macro,meso and micro scopes.In the macro scope,it centers theoretically on the idea,nature,system,mode of national translation program,etc.; in the meso scope,it addresses the historical context of national translation program,and the relation between the involved foreign translators' identity and their translation behavior; in the micro scope,it makes a case study of Sydney Shapiro,a representative of the foreign translators identified as'a foreign expert,'a Chinese citizen'and a professional translator,with an investigation of his translations over fifty years. The paper makes a critical review of the letest progress of the project as a result of multiple-disciplinary and cross-perspective approaches. The author argues that the new fiudings of the project are valucble to the study on narration of national translation history.
