The thesis of the Jude the Obscure, a typical bildungsromane written by Thomas Hardy, which represents the longings and pursuits of the hero's ideal education, the exploration of his individual emotion and the attachment to his homeland. The novel describes the life experience of the young protagonist, which is the journey of seeking knowledge, emotional belonging and value. However, the young protagonist loses his hope and his dream ultimately.The spiritual growth and educational system, religion and faith, and moral situation in community immerge in this novel, which inspires the critical thinking and rethinking.
