摘要
以《论语》汉英双语平行语料库为基础,将《论语》五个英译本在文化特色词与句子等层面的基本特征进行定量与定性分析,比较和探讨五译本在语言风格与翻译策略的异同。通过多层面考察,研究结果表明:五译本的显化策略运用非常普遍,影响策略的主要原因在于译者的翻译目的与社会语境;翻译风格各具特色,如森舸斓译文多使用各种长句与段落解释,辜鸿铭译文明显趋向英语地道的叙事与篇章手段,理雅各、刘殿爵、安乐哲的译文更强调原文形式传达,但阅读难度较大。
This study compares the languages features and translation strategies in five versions of The Analectsthrough the discussion of the characteristic words and sentence features based on the parallel corpus studies of The Analects.Both the quantitative and qualitative methods are used. Through multilevel analysis, the research results are asthe following： the explicitation features are obvious in five versions, and the reasons mainly lie on the translation purposeand social context;the translation styles are diverse, for instance, Slingerland often uses various long sentencesand paragraphs, Ku Hungming idiomatic narration techniques; Legge, Lau, and Ames and Rosemont cherishe moreon original text which usually increases the reading difficulty of the target versions.
