摘要
任务复杂度一直以来都是二语任务研究中的核心议题。为了进一步探讨任务复杂度对中国英语学习者语言产出的影响,本文采用元分析方法对国内相关研究进行了整合与分析。结果表明:1)国内已有研究涉及不同的任务复杂度变量,采用了多种语言产出衡量指标;2)任务复杂度对学习者语言产出的句法复杂性和词汇复杂性具有一定积极影响,对准确性和流利性存在可能的负面影响;3)在学习者语言产出复杂性与准确性方面,产出方式对任务复杂度效应的影响不显著,在流利性方面影响显著;4)学习者语言水平、复杂度控制变量以及衡量指标等都是影响任务复杂度效应的潜在因素。
Task complexity has long been one of the key issues in L2 task-based research. Using metaanalysis, this paper explores the effect of task complexity on Chinese English learners' language performance by synthesizing and analyzing the related studies conducted in China's Mainland. The results show that:(1) there is an assortment of treatments about task complexity and measurements of language production;(2) while exerting a certain positive effect on learners' syntactic complexity and lexis, task complexity produces a possible negative effect on accuracy and fluency;(3) in terms of language complexity and accuracy, task modality(oral or written) does not affect the overall effect of task complexity significantly, but does exert a significant effect on fluency; and(4) learners'language proficiency, controlled variables of task complexity and measurements of language production are all possible factors affecting the effect of task complexity.
