摘要
该研究调查了中国大学生和美国大学生在使用拒绝语方面的相同和差异。共有10名中美大学生参加了该研究,问卷调查共产生120个拒绝。数据分析了中美大学生使用直接拒绝和间接拒绝的频率,结果显示两组都倾向间接拒绝,但是中国大学生做了更多的努力来避免直接拒绝,并且更在意谈话人的感受,使用了更多的礼貌标记语言来照顾说话人的面子。
This study investigates similarities and differences between Chinese and American university students＇ refusals using a version of the Discourse Completion Test （DCT）. Five Chinese students resulted in 60 refusals and five American students resulted in other 60 refusals. Data were analyzed to compare the average frequencies of direct and indirect strategies. Results indicate the two groups have a preference for indirect strategies in most cases in the speech act of refusal. Whereas, Chinese university students made more efforts to avoid employing direct refusals and showed more sensitivity to the feelings of interlocutors by using politeness markers to save the speaker＇s face.
