摘要
非裔美籍作家托尼·莫里森的代表作《慈悲》的元小说特征主要体现在小说结构、语言和叙事策略上。《慈悲》通过曲折琐碎的故事情节、多元矛盾的人物性格特征、模糊的时间概念、错乱的话语时序和多重聚焦等后现代叙事技巧,为读者谱写了黑人悲惨的命运和支离破碎的历史。文章旨在剖析《慈悲》的结构、故事碎片化和意义的不确定性等元小说叙事策略,从而揭示奴隶制度和种族主义对黑人奴隶的伤害。
Toni Morrison,an African-American writer,expresses her meta-fiction techniques in structure,language and narrative strategy in ＂A Mercy＂. Through analyzing its post-modern narrative strategies,such as complicated narrative plot,multi-faceted and conflicted personalities,vague conception of time,disordered narrative discourse multi-focalizations etc.,readers can get a better insight of the black＇s miserable destiny and fragmented history. It aims at interpreting the meta-fiction narrative strategies,including the fragmented structure and story as well as uncertainty of its meaning,so as to reveal the harm of slavery system and racism to the black slaves.
