摘要
以4-羧基-4'-羟基偶氮苯为偶氮苯化合物母体,与n-溴己烷发生酯化和醚化反应,制得4-羧酸正己酯基-4'-正己氧基偶氮苯液晶.利用红外光谱、核磁共振氢谱以及紫外可见光谱分析产物的结构,并研究其在乙醇溶液中的光异构化反应,采用差示扫描量热(DSC)和偏光显微镜(POM)表征其液晶性.结果表明:在紫外光照射下,该液晶分子会发生顺反结构的光异构化反应;同时发现该化合物为双向热致液晶,且表现出近晶态液晶织构.
A novel azobenzene liquid crystal 4- ( n-hexylcarboxylate ) -4'- ( n-hexyloxy ) azobenzene was synthesized by esterification and etherification reaction between 4-carboxy-4'-hydroxy azobenzene and n-bromohexane. The structure of the compound was characterized by PT-IR and 1H-NMR. The changes in UV-Vis spectra of 4- (n-hexylcarboxylate) - 4'- ( n-hexyloxy ) azobenzene irradiated by lights were investi- gated. Liquid crystalline properties were detected with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polari- zing optical microscope ( POM ). The results showed that 4- ( n-hexylcarboxylate ) - 4'- ( n-hexyloxy ) azo- benzene undergoes trans--,cis isomerization irradiated by 360 nm UV light and cis--,trans isomerization ir- radiated by 440 nm visible light subsequently. At the same time, this compound was found to be a bidirec- tional thermotropic liquid crystal, showing smectic textures.
